ARTI11

The first edition ARTI ART DESIGN TASTE took place in 2007 at the Caballero Factory in The Hague.

At this fair, 25 galleries and designstudio’s participated and mainly all located at The Hague. The fair was a success  and a year later the fair was located in the old PTT building (now Binck36). Again a special location at the Binckhorst in The Hague. The participants were spread out over two buildings on the first floor.  The third year, the fair moved to the present location, the Fokker Terminal. The level and the number of visitors were growing every year. The Fokker Terminal, a beautiful, light and spacious location, is the permanent location of the fair since 2008. In 2010 ARTI celebrated her first lustrum. ARTI still is a new concept within the world of art fairs with a special emphasis on art, design and taste. In 2010 with 35 participants we received 9300 visitors.

ARTI11 will take place from 5 till 9 October in the Fokker Terminal The Hague. At the fair 40 galleries and design studio’s are presenting themselves. This year, during the ARTI fair a special exposition will take place with Dutch/Indonesian artists, called “De Blauwe Kamer” (the blue room).

At ARTI : THE “BLAUWE KAMER” (BLUE ROOM)  FROM JAN TOOROP TILL HADASSAH EMMERICH

At ARTI11, we will organise a special sales exposition titled “The Blue Room” with art and design from artists with a Dutch/Indonesian background. Mr. Frans Leidelmeijer is the curator of the exposition.

On Friday 7th October, we will have a special program of the exposition “The Blue Room””. A festive opening with a presentation of Frans Leidelmeijer at 16.00 hours and a tour of the fair. The program will finish with a drink at the stand of The Blue Room. If interested, please register for his special activity. This exhibtion will be exposed during all the days of the fair.

In the Blue Room mostly contemporary art will be exposed. But to show a historical perspective, we will go back into history and among them you will see work of Jan Toorop: the first artist of Dutch/Indonesian origin in the Netherlands. He introduced the symbolism, impressionism and the pointillism into the Netherlands. Next to art we will also emphasize design. A combination of colonial furniture with distinguishing marks of art nouveau and art deco. The years 50/60 will be represented by the designer of Goed Wonen (Good Living) Kho Liang Ie. We will end up with contemporary design of Roderick Vos and ceramics of Esther Stasse.  Besides this particular exposition, on several places at the Fair, rooms will be decorated with design and objects.

Participating artists and designers are amongst others Jan Toorop, Charley Toorop, Evert Akkeringa, Corry Mühlenfeld, Kho Liang Ie, Esther Stassen, Edith Bons, Tiong Ang, Maus Slangen, Roderick Vos, Peter van Dongen, Natalie Ypma, Ingrid van der Hoeven, Ronald Meulman, Willy Jolly, Iene Ambar, Niels Smits van Burgst, Bart Vos and Hadassah Emmerich.

The entrance fee amounts to 10 euro. For more information and /or if you want to register for Friday, 7th October, please email to axel@artidenhaag.nl. This particular exhibition will be exposed  from 7 till 9 October.
